Astrocytes are a type of stellate glial cells found in the brain and spinal cord. It plays a very important role in the formation of the brain blood barrier. It can provide nutrition for nerve tissue, maintain the balance of extracellular ions, and treat brain trauma and spinal cord injury.

Cortical astrocytes can be used for neurobiological research, such as the maintenance of the extracellular environment of the central nervous system, the support of neuron metabolism and neurotransmitter synthesis, and new drug research and development of Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease.

OriCellTM SD rat cortical astrocytes are taken from the cerebral cortex of newborn SD rats.

QC:

  • Pass the detection of bacteria, fungi, mycoplasma and endotoxin.
  • Pass the cell resuscitation test, the resuscitation survival rate is >50%.

  • Pass the immunofluorescence detection, it expresses GFAP(≥ 80%); it does not express β-tubulin III ≤ 10%,Galc( ≤ 10%).
