Overview of Gene Research
Cebpg, also known as CCAAT enhancer binding protein gamma, is a gene implicated in myeloid differentiation and plays critical roles in various physiological and pathological processes. It is involved in pathways such as PI3K-AKT signaling and is associated with the regulation of genes related to antioxidant, DNA repair, and cell cycle processes [2,3,4].
In ovarian cancer, knockdown of Cebpg inhibits cancer progression and reveals its role in suppressing ferroptosis through transcriptional control of SLC7A11 [1]. In acute myeloid leukemia, shRNA-mediated down-regulation of Cebpg shows that it promotes cell proliferation by activating EIF4EBP1 [2]. In esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, Cebpg significantly promotes cell proliferation and migration by activating the PI3K-AKT signaling pathway [3].
In conclusion, Cebpg is a key regulator in multiple diseases including ovarian cancer, acute myeloid leukemia, and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. Loss-of-function experiments in cell lines and animal models have revealed its roles in promoting cancer progression and evading ferroptosis, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target in these disease areas.
