Overview of Gene Research
Creb1, also known as cAMP responsive element binding protein 1, is a key transcription factor. It mediates transcriptional responses to diverse growth factors and stress signals. It is involved in various pathways, and has been shown to play a critical role in the development and progression of tumors [2].
In skin inflammation, CREB1 drives the development of CXCR4hi neutrophils. Blockade of CXCR4hi neutrophils through CXCR4 or CXCL12 inhibition, which are related to CREB1-regulated CXCR4 expression, leads to suppression of immune responses in mouse models [1]. In non-small cell lung cancer, knockdown of CREB1 sensitizes cells to ferroptosis inducers, and high expression of CREB1 is associated with poor prognosis [4]. In cervical cancer, depletion of CREB1 or inhibition of its activity reduces cell proliferation and migration in HPV+ cervical cancer cell lines [3].
In conclusion, Creb1 is a crucial transcription factor involved in multiple biological processes and disease conditions. Studies using gene-knockdown or-inhibition models have revealed its role in skin inflammation, non-small cell lung cancer, and cervical cancer, among others, providing insights into potential therapeutic strategies for these diseases.
