Overview of Gene Research
Ly75, also known as DEC-205 or CD205, is an antigen receptor and endocytic receptor. It is expressed in immune cells, cancers, and mitotic germ cells in fish. In the immune system, it is involved in antigen processing and presentation [5,6]. In addition, it may play a role in pathways such as the Wnt/β -catenin pathway [1,2]. Ly75 has been associated with various biological processes and diseases, making it an important gene for study.
In epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) cell lines, LY75 suppression can lead to mesenchymal-epithelial transition (MET), accompanied by reduced migratory and invasive capacity in vitro and enhanced tumor cell colonization and metastatic growth in vivo [1,2,6]. In skin cutaneous melanoma, Ly75 mRNA expression is lower in cancer tissues, and its expression is positively correlated with natural killer (NK) cell infiltration and good patient survival [3]. In mice, Ly75 has been identified as a quantitative trait gene for resistance to obesity [4]. Also, in bladder cancer, nitidine chloride can inhibit cell proliferation, migration, and invasion by down-regulating LY75 [7].
In conclusion, Ly75 is involved in multiple biological processes and diseases. Its role in cancer metastasis, immune cell infiltration, and obesity resistance has been revealed through in vivo and in vitro studies. These findings contribute to understanding the underlying mechanisms of these diseases and may provide potential targets for treatment.
