Overview of Gene Research
Dynlrb2, short for dynein light chain roadblock-type 2, is a component of the cytoplasmic dynein complex. It plays crucial roles in intracellular transport, being essential for the retrograde transport of murine leukemia virus (MLV) [3,7]. It also participates in spindle formation during male meiosis I [4]. In addition, its associated lncRNAs, such as DYNLRB2-AS1 and DYNLRB2-2, are involved in various biological processes like gemcitabine resistance in nasopharyngeal carcinoma, cholesterol homeostasis, and macrophage foam cell formation [1,2,5,6,8].

In Dynlrb2 knockout (KO) mouse testes, meiosis progression is arrested in metaphase I due to the formation of multipolar spindles with fragmented pericentriolar material (PCM), highlighting its importance in male meiotic spindle bipolarity [4]. Silencing Dynlrb2 in cells reduces the efficiency of MLV infection, while its overexpression increases infection, indicating its significance in MLV retrograde transport and infection [3,7].

In summary, Dynlrb2 is essential for MLV traffic and nuclear entry, as well as for male meiotic spindle formation. The study of Dynlrb2 KO mouse models has provided valuable insights into its role in these biological processes. Its associated lncRNAs also contribute to various disease-related mechanisms, such as cancer chemoresistance and atherosclerosis development [1-5,8,9].
