Overview of Gene Research
Ino80d, a component of the INO80 chromatin remodeling complex, is crucial for chromatin remodeling, gene expression, and DNA repair. It is involved in processes such as spermatogenesis, and its encoded protein is related to DNA binding, chromatin modification, chromosome structure organization, and ATP-dependent nucleosome sliding [1,3].
In Chinese mitten crab spermatogenesis, INO80D is initially involved in chromatin decondensation for gene accessibility and DNA repair in early spermatogenesis, and later maintains decondensed chromatin stability during spermiogenesis [1].
In mice, its expression is up-regulated in adult testis tissue, and miR-92a-3p may negatively regulate it, influencing testicular development and spermatogenesis [2].
A missense mutation (Ser818Cys) in INO80D in humans is linked to a syndrome of aortic hypoplasia, premature atherosclerosis, and arterial stiffness, suggesting its role in arterial aging [3].
In translocation renal cell carcinoma, mutations in INO80D were identified, and knockdown of INO80D decreased cell proliferation in a relevant cell line [4].
In summary, Ino80d plays multifaceted roles in spermatogenesis and is associated with certain human diseases. Studies on Ino80d in various species contribute to understanding its functions in biological processes and disease mechanisms, potentially providing insights for related disease treatment and prevention [1,2,3,4].
