Detailed Document
Overview of Gene Research
Tex22, as one of the genes, has its significance yet to be fully detailed regarding its function, associated pathways, and overall biological importance. However, genetic models could potentially shed light on these aspects.
In a child with a 0.305 Mb microdeletion of chromosome 14q32.33 that includes Tex22 among six genes, similar clinical findings like mild facial dysmorphisms and intellectual disability were observed compared to those with larger 14q32 deletions, suggesting Tex22 may contribute to the 14q32 deletion syndrome [1]. In colorectal cancer, Tex22 was found to be among the protein-coding genes in a CRC-related competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network and was significantly highly expressed in CRC [2].
In summary, Tex22 might be involved in the 14q32 deletion syndrome and has a role in colorectal cancer as indicated by the genetic deletion case and ceRNA network analysis. Further research using gene knockout models could potentially reveal more about its essential biological functions in these disease-related processes.
