Overview of Gene Research
Sox11, short for Sex-determining region Y-related high-mobility-group box transcription factor 11, is an essential member of the SOX transcription factors. It is crucial in embryogenesis, regulating progenitor and stem cell behavior, and often collaborates with SOX4 and SOX12 in processes like neurogenesis and skeletogenesis [3].

Sox11 has emerged as a significant factor in carcinogenesis. In mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), it is highly expressed in conventional cases but not in indolent leukemic non-nodal MCL subtype, promoting tumor growth in vivo and regulating multiple pathways [2]. In hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), its elevated expression is related to immune infiltration, ferroptosis, and can predict survival, also affecting cell proliferation and migration [1]. In EBV-negative Burkitt lymphoma, its expression is associated with specific genetic features and may play a role in early pathogenesis [4]. In adrenergic neuroblastoma, it is a dependency transcription factor regulating genes involved in epigenetic control and chromatin regulatory complexes [5]. In aggressive MCL, its expression is associated with an immunosuppressive microenvironment [6].

In summary, Sox11 is vital in embryogenesis and has diverse roles in multiple cancers. Model-based research, especially in cancer areas like MCL, HCC, Burkitt lymphoma, and neuroblastoma, has revealed its functions in tumor growth, genetic landscapes, and immune microenvironments, providing potential insights for cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment [1,2,4,5,6].
