Overview of Gene Research
F2rl2, also known as coagulation factor II thrombin receptor-like 2 or protease-activated receptor-3 (PAR3), is a G-protein-coupled receptor. It is involved in multiple biological processes. For instance, in the context of blood-related processes, it may be associated with coagulation pathways. It also seems to play a role in cellular signaling as its activation by thrombin can regulate various cellular responses [3].
In the study of myocardial infarction, both NFAT2 silencing and F2RL2 silencing relieved the damage and inflammation in MI model mice. miR-125b-5p alleviated MI injury by inhibiting NFAT2 to reduce F2RL2 expression [1]. Additionally, downregulation of F2RL2 in MI mice prevented the reduction in left ventricular ejection fraction (EF) and fractional shortening (FS), and the elevation in infarct area and cell apoptosis. lncRNA NEAT1 downregulation ameliorated MI by regulating the miR-582-5p/F2RL2 axis [2].
In conclusion, F2rl2 is involved in crucial biological processes, especially in the context of myocardial infarction. The use of gene-silencing techniques in mouse models related to F2rl2 has revealed its role in reducing damage and inflammation in myocardial infarction, providing potential therapeutic targets for this disease.
