Overview of Gene Research

Iqcf3, the exact nature of its essential function, associated pathways, and overall biological importance remain largely unknown as no such information was provided in the reference. But gene-based studies can potentially shed light on these aspects.
A gene-based association analysis identified Iqcf3 (p = 2.0×10⁻⁶) as a significant gene associated with keratitis in a study of 337,199 subjects of European ancestry in the UK Biobank cohort [1]. The overlap of Iqcf3 in SNP-based and gene-based analyses resulted in a total of 33 hub genes. Functional annotation of these hub genes was performed and transcriptional factors of Iqcf3 were predicted [1].
In conclusion, Iqcf3 has been identified as a candidate gene underlying keratitis through gene-based association analysis. The study indicates its potential importance in the context of keratitis, although more research is needed to fully understand its biological functions and how it might contribute to the disease.
