We are delighted to announce the winner of the Free Knockout (KO) Model promotion from the Cyagen Knockout Catalog Models repository. Now that the winning applicant has accepted their awards, we are excited to share their information as well as some brief notes about their research model plans.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this promotional event – be sure to join our mailing list and follow Cyagen on social media  (LinkedInTwitterYouTube ) to stay informed about future funding opportunities.

Official Winner of the Free Knockout Catalog Model

For this promotional offer, all eligible Knockout Catalog Models repository orders initiated before the deadline of August 31, 2020 were entered into a drawing for a free KO model.

We are excited to announce that the winner (chosen by random selection) is Dr. Christopher Alexander, a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Below, we have included the information about the research group and project which was randomly selected to receive the free knockout (KO) model project from the Cyagen Knockout Catalog Model repository.

Brief Research Statement:

"Neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative diseases are devastating to millions of Americans both physically and emotionally, representing an immense burden on the nation’s healthcare system. The cerebellum plays significant roles in both motor function and cognitive function. Currently, we are interested in cerebellar function at the molecular level, with a focus on myosin motor proteins and the actomyosin cytoskeleton. Specifically, we wish to understand how unconventional myosins regulate neuronal function and describe their role in human health and disease. To accomplish this, we are using specific knockout mouse models and a multimodal approach of cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, and high-resolution microscopy techniques."

Cyagen Knockout Catalog Models Repository

The Cyagen Knockout Catalog Models repository provides researchers in the Americas and Europe with ready-to-use knockout (KO) and conditional knockout (cKO) mouse models in as few as three (3) months.

Our searchable Knockout Catalog Models repository contains over 16k KO and cKO (a.k.a. floxed) strains available for delivery of ≥3 HET mice in as fast as 3 months. Unlike many other similar products, Cyagen's repository is on pure B6 background which will help you save a significant amount of time by eliminating the need for backcrossing.

Watch our brief video to learn how to search the Knockout Catalog Models repository for your next KO/cKO mouse model, and explore the related resources and support available from Cyagen.

Advantages of Our Ready-to-Use KO/cKO Catalog Models

With our growing repository, we aim to enhance mouse model accessibility for researchers worldwide by providing high-quality rodent models in the most economic and efficient way. Inquire about the status of any specific gene(s) not shown online for more information about pending availability.

Reliable

  • Established lines eliminate risks associated with model generation process
  • Guaranteed models: validated genotyping data available upon request

Efficient

  • Deliverables: ≥3 HET mice in as fast as 3 months (HOMO available)
  • Reduced paperwork: inquire online to place an order (Search for Your Gene)

Economical

  • 100% pure B6 background eliminates need for backcrossing – most repositories have mixed backgrounds
  • Inexpensive: Cost of catalog lines cannot be beaten by any model generation approach
