Cyagen Biosciences Inc. is a 300-employee contract research organization (CRO) with offices in California, Germany, and China, and production facilities in China. Cyagen offers a wide range of products and services in molecular biology and cell biology. In particular, Cyagen is the world’s largest provider of custom animal models including knockout/knockin/transgenic mouse and rat models.

Chief Scientist & Group Leader Positions

Job Description:

We are looking to fill several chief scientist and group leader positions in several areas that we are aggressively expanding into, including:

  • In vivo oncology drug screen platform using mouse models of patient-derived xenograft.
  • In vitro oncology drug screen platform using cancer cell lines.
  • Drug PD/PK assessment platform using animal models (rodents, primates, etc.).
  • Comprehensive mouse phenotyping platform.
  • Platform for the production, maintenance and analysis of germ-free mice.
  • Platform for monoclonal antibody production, optimization and humanization, utilizing a variety of technologies including hybridoma, mutagenesis and phage display.
  • Animal models for immunological studies.

An individual hired into one of these positions is expected to spend most time in our R&D and production branch based just outside of Shanghai to lead an R&D team/program that would expand Cyagen’s offerings into one or more of the above-listed areas.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in biology with extensive experience in one or more of the above areas.
  • Ability to effectively lead a team of scientists.
  • A critical thinker who likes solving challenging research problems and has a can-do attitude.

Senior Applications Scientist in China

Job Description:

  • To work with our sales team in China as a key technical advisor and advocate for our animal model services and other offerings.
  • Requires extensive traveling (>50%) and frequent seminar presentations.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in biology with extensive experience in genetically modified mouse and rat models and broad knowledge in molecular biology.
  • A critical thinker who likes solving challenging research problems and has a can-do attitude.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in Chinese and English.

Technical Support Scientist

We are currently seeking a Technical Support Scientist to work in Santa Clara, CA.

Job Description:

  • Provide technical advisement to potential and existing customers.
  • Qualify sales leads.
  • Coordinate project management with our scientists in China.

Qualifications:

  • Mandarin speaker strongly preferred.
  • Graduate degree in biology required (Minimum MS; PhD preferred).
  • Laboratory experience required, preferably hands-on experience with genetic animal models and/or vector cloning.

Compensation is based on background and experience. This is a full-time, salaried, benefits-eligible position.
