Strain Description
Zc3hav1-mCherry-iCre mice are generated via genome editing by replacing the TAG stop codon of the mouse Zc3hav1 gene with a P2A-mCherry-T2A-iCre cassette, enabling co-expression of iCre recombinase (codon-optimized Cre) and mCherry under the control of endogenous Zc3hav1 regulatory elements. The expression pattern of iCre recombinase mirrors that of the endogenous Zc3hav1 gene. When crossed with mice containing loxP sites, Cre-mediated recombination between loxP sites is expected to occur in Zc3hav1-positive cells of the offspring. Beyond Cre-loxP gene recombination, this model enables mCherry-based fluorescent tracing.
