Detailed Document
Overview of Gene Research
Gm4952 is a gene whose specific functions, common aliases, and associated pathways have not been widely established in general biological knowledge. However, genetic models can be crucial for understanding its functions in vivo.
In a study on the effects of pre-conceptional glyphosate (GLY) exposure in mice, it was found that in dams at gestation day 14 (GD14), GLY exposure increased the hepatic protein abundance of Gm4952 by approximately 4-fold (p < 0.05) [1].
Overall, while the exact biological functions of Gm4952 remain to be fully elucidated, the model-based research using mice exposed to GLY suggests that Gm4952 may be involved in the hepatic response to pre-conceptional glyphosate exposure. This provides a starting point for further functional studies of Gm4952 in relation to environmental chemical-induced impacts on liver function.
