Overview of Gene Research
Sccpdh, or saccharopine dehydrogenase-like oxidoreductase, is a protein-coding gene. Although its exact function and associated pathways are not comprehensively detailed in the provided references, studies have been exploring its role in various biological processes. Genetic models can potentially offer insights into its function and significance in vivo [1].

In a study on the anandamide reuptake inhibitor WOBE437, Sccpdh was identified as one of the off-target proteins of this molecule in mouse neuroblastoma Neuro-2a cells, though further genetic studies indicated it was not responsible for the WOBE437-induced reduction in N-acylethanolamine levels [1]. In preeclampsia research, Sccpdh was identified as a hub gene, with potential as a biomarker for diagnosing preeclampsia [2]. In cell cycle studies, deletion of one polyA site in SCCPDH resulted in faster cell cycle progression, suggesting a role of Sccpdh in cell cycle regulation [3]. In remote ischemic postconditioning research, Sccpdh was down-regulated in the RIPostC group, though the functional implications of this change in the context of cardioprotection were not fully explored [4]. Sccpdh was also among the unknown cellular targets discovered in a study on a potent AXL kinase inhibitor [5]. In a mouse model of Parkinson's disease, Sccpdh was commonly down-regulated after intranigral grafting of embryonic ventral mesencephalon, potentially involved in lipid formation and dopamine vesicle recycling at the synapse [6]. In a chronic mild stress study on rats, Sccpdh expression alterations were specifically linked to the anxiety-susceptible group, indicating its possible role in the pituitary's response to stress [7].

In summary, Sccpdh seems to play diverse roles in biological processes such as cell cycle regulation, and may be involved in diseases like preeclampsia, Parkinson's disease, and in the context of stress-related responses. These findings from various models contribute to understanding its potential functions in normal and disease-associated biological states.
