Overview of Gene Research
Slc35f2, a member of the solute carrier family, is a membrane-bound carrier protein. It is associated with multiple physiological functions, and its dysregulation is linked to cancer-related pathways [2,4]. It has been implicated in processes such as cell growth, migration, and invasion, making it of high biological importance in cancer research.

Knockdown of Slc35f2 in bladder cancer cells inhibits their proliferation, migration, and invasion, and promotes apoptosis. Nude mouse tumor formation experiments also showed that Slc35f2 knockdown significantly reduced tumorigenesis, indicating its role in bladder cancer progression [3]. In pancreatic cancer cells, Slc35f2 inhibits ferroptosis by facilitating TRIM59-mediated p53 degradation through a SLC35F2-SYVN1-TRIM59 axis, highlighting its significance in pancreatic cancer-related ferroptosis regulation [1].

In conclusion, Slc35f2 plays a crucial role in cancer-related biological processes. The findings from loss-of-function experiments, such as knockdown in bladder and pancreatic cancer cells, have revealed its importance in cancer progression and ferroptosis regulation, suggesting it could be a potential therapeutic target for treating bladder and pancreatic cancers.
